We are seeking a skilled Statistical Data Modeller/Analyst to join Helmes.
The role involves working in a diverse team with a LEAN/Agile, continuous improvement focus, and an ambition to promote best practices for a wide range of colleagues and partners. You will help establish evidence-based international standards and advance statistical methodology, co-ordinate statistical and data-related activities.

- Analyse data models, contrast them with statistical and technical guidelines (SDMX and others)
- Develop and draft modelling methodology notes for non-experts
- Propose models that fit; author SDMX artefacts to represent structures and data accordingly
- With third-party partner organisations (typically, national statistics offices), carry out analysis, design, training, and support activities in data modelling
- Develop a quick understanding of use-cases and contexts
- Participate in drafting or reviewing functional specifications, mediate between data-producers and solutions developers, perform user acceptance testing of open-source and closed-source statistics and data solutions
You are a great fit for the team with
- A university degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or in a related field
- At least 3 years of working experience, ideally in database modelling, information modelling, classification or metadata management
- Familiarity with Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) standard with a commitment to reach a good working level
- Experience in a connex domain such as data warehousing, BI
- Familiarity with linked open data and cataloguing standards: DDI, RDF, DCAT, SKOS is a bonus
- Experience with Python and R, other scripting languages would be an asset, especially VBS, shell/PowerShell
- Very good English language skills, both written and spoken
